Her 'Portals' and similar works create an air of mystery and contemplation. Ms. Gwaltney has studios in Potomac, MD and Calistoga, CA where she creates her commissioned artwork.

The challenge was to design a vertical, lighted column – the next logical step in columns for me. This dynamic piece has LED lighting that can change from white, to yellow, red, purple, blue, turquoise and green, as well as cycling between all colors. The interplay of verticality, positive and negative space, and emanating light can be changed with the touch of a button.
