Evolution No. 1

Acrylic on Canvas
30″ x 24″

From the stable equilateral triangle to the more extreme, elongated versions, triangles seem the most pliable of straight-edge forms. But color is my first interest, and marrying a geometric form with color, to come to some sort of understanding and evolution has been the goal in my work.

In Evolution No. 1, the color blocks are triangles or implied triangles, and a vertical line imparts another energy, forming torqueing triangles at the top. The colors here represent the fourth through seventh chakras, but some colors are less intense than others, or not precisely complementary, or more or less intense than they are generally depicted in chakra literature. It’s a snapshot of where one might be along an evolutionary track, and shows where there are strengths and weaknesses.
