Portal No. 5 Central Sun

Acrylic on Wood, with LED Lights
72″ x 72″ x 3″

Portal No. 5 changes throughout the day. The morning sun illuminates the rich yellow and the backlighting is peripheral, though clearly visible. Later, as the light dims, the backlighting takes over, and a warm glow permeates the room. It’s also quite dramatic when viewed from outside through the large window.

The color was carefully chosen to complement the wood paneling that is adjacent, and the unique quality of the California sun.
